GAMES: A wide array of souvenirs numbering over 100 different varieties will whilst being made available, also go on to adorn and enhance the 10th South Asian (SA) Games, that takes place from the 18th of August to the 28th, here in Colombo.

All this and more, are being turned out locally by the global fashion jewellery manufacturer, Stone 'N' String, the exclusive licence holder for the SA games souvenirs.

This merchandise of varied hues forms and sizes, amongst which are caps, t-shirts, coasters, mouse pads, pencils, pens and exercise books to corporate items such as penholders, cardholders and travel kits.

In addition to these items, there will also be on offer, sports jewellery and a host of other exclusive items, such as designer watches faceted with precious gems and colours representing the South Asian countries. These souvenirs will be sold at exclusive booths at the games venues, supermarkets and Stone 'N' String outlets globally.

The Chairman, Marketing and Sponsorship Committee of the National Olympic Committee, Nalin Attygalle, was of the view that country branding was a very good thing in the worldwide concept and, in this regard quite a few companies were approached to make souvenirs available, but they declined, with Stone 'N' String having the ability to take the Games to a global level responding positively and were given the responsibility of producing souvenirs for this major event.
